lyrics
I rode my bike
Through the Central Valley at dawn
There were endless fields of rice
Shrouded in the fog
Where a waterbird took flight
Disappeared into the morning sky
And the road passed me by
The empty parking lots
Where the factories shutdown
Their smoke stacks tall and white
Stood without a sound
Above the misty fields
As I waited for the Spring
I drank the steaming air
As the sun began rising
And the dream began to lift
As I listened to the sound of my wheels spin
And the Sun came pouring in...
Pulling into town
Or what remained of it
I went into the store
The last one that was left
An orange and a rose
And a couple dusty stamps

I really enjoyed this new track from Small Sur. Melodic vocals and good rhythm that drifts in and out drawing out my thoughts of what the lyrics mean, like so many Small Sur songs. love it. David Burton
